“Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe,
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.”

This song is kind of my anthem when it comes to worship. It has the most basic and raw meaning of the gospel and salvation in this beautiful metaphor, only requiring four lines to completely surrender my soul in servitude to The Lord.

None But Jesus- Hillsong

In the quiet, in the stillness
I know that You are God
In the secret of Your presence
I know there I am restored

When You call I won’t refuse
Each new day again I’ll choose

There is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praise

In the chaos, in confusion
I know You’re Sovereign still
In the moment of my weakness
You give me grace to do Your will

When You call I won’t delay
This my song through all my days

All my delight is in You Lord
All of my hope, all of my strength
All my delight is in You Lord Forevermore

Worship, Idolatry + Evangelism: Wake Up Call

iwanttobethemoon:

Something I’ve noticed recently is that often us Christians are even worse for having false idols than non-Christians. Primarily, I think, because we don’t seem to realise.

There are the obvious idols of money, lust - anything we put before God. Sins essentially, or things that we worship. We always worship something. If it’s not God we are worshipping, then it’s something else. Worship is a lifestyle. Just because you only listen to Christian music (ie. the ‘worship’ genre) doesn’t mean you aren’t worshipping other things elsewhere in your life.

I’ll say this again, even though it’s such a Christian cliche - worship is a lifestyle. Except when we actually break this down, what does it mean?

Emma is wise beyond her years :) This is so relevant. I especially love the last part, it’s something that bothers me a lot about worship songs - the Holy Spirit doesn’t “come to meet us” because He’s already living in us.
